>In the garden

I knew there was a Goldcrest somewhere around the house as I had heard it around but this was the first time I saw it land at the feeders. Luckily I had my camera in hand. Very happy to finally see it.

King of the garden. Always guarding the bird table for all he’s/she’s worth.

The fat ball destroyers. A bunch of these can take a cage full of fat balls apart in a matter of minutes.

Always scouring the lawn for tasty morsels. Often seen tossing dead leaves over to find small insects.

They arrive in gangs this time of year and disappear as swiftly as they arrived.
